Subject: Comenius Language Project

Dear Mr Terje Benzen,

we had your name from Mrs Mara Brunello, Istituto "Palladio" Treviso Italy, who informed us that your school may be interested in a school exchange with our country.

We are trying to organize a Comenius Language Project  regarding Art. Any topic could be fine. Our suggestion is to explore the use of the colour as a means of expression in the 16th century art in our area (north-east of Italy) and contemporary Norvegian art: from Giorgione to Munch, from Titian to Nolde.

Our school is a 5 years-course mainly concerning languages (English, French and German), as well as Italian, Art, Latin, History, Philosophy, Science and Maths.

The students involved in the project would be the IV° class-students, age 17 - 18. They themselves asked to take part to an European  Language Project; in fact they are strongly motivated and willing to have this kind of experience.

If you are not interested but you know of a school in your country that could be, please, let us know.

I wish to inform you that I would be on holiday from the 19th July to the end of August so I would very much appriciate if you can send me a quick answer so that we can go on and ask the preparatory visit.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Best regards

Lucia Picello

Dear Mr Terje Bentzen,

we were very pleased to receive your e-mail and read that you are interested in the Comenius Language Project.

We are just back from our summer vacation and, as you said, it's high time to set the wheels in motion.

First of all we should organize the preparatory visit. We should suggest March on our side. What about you?

Winter in our country is not so bad so, maybe, you could come before March.

We are new in this project but willing to carry it on so, please, help us planning it with your ideas and experience.

Waiting for your quick reply we thank you in advance,

Best wishes

Dear Mr Terje Bentzen,

Thank you very much for your answer.

We agree with your schedule: prepare the project this school year (02-03), and visit each other next school year (end September/beginning of October 2003 would be suitable for us to visit you with our students).

What about coming to Italy and meet us? If you ask for the preparatory visit right now, you can come whenever you want.

Yours sincerely

Lucia Picello and Marisa Rasera
